Set Construction Work
I was asked to help design/build the set for a puppet film, Stainful. They gave me and my friend, Kevin Hastings, a few concept illustrations and the dimensions of a room in an apartment. We were asked to build a set for the film that could have puppeteers walking in and out and moving around.
First, we got the wood. Then, we cut it. We bought just enough wood so that it was cost effective (it turns out that I estimated too low for the wood, and we ended up having to get more). We began construction on a Saturday afternoon...
... And we finished in about 5 hours on that same day! Construction went very briskly, and everything was ready for chicken wire and paper mache by the end of the day. In the last picture, we have the director/puppet maker/puppeteer posing in the set! You can see how big the set really is in that picture.
